Be thankful for all the pain
she went through,
for those long endless 9 months
when she carried you,
And then waking up every few
hours in the wee morning,
Because you were hungry or wet
or upset and crying.
Be thankful that your parents
looked out for you, with your every step,
And still keeping you fed, and
clothed with a roof over your head,
though at times you would make
them regret.
Because it's a two way street,
Just as children can't choose
their parents, parents can't choose their children,
They get you, and you get them,
And you should consider your
parent's Heaven sent.
Be thankful that you dad goes
to work everyday,
To try and give you all that
you need, he slaves away,
Coming home haggard and worn
out,
Just to hear you complain and
shout-
about not having the latest
teenage craze,
When he is working hard while
you go to school and come home to laze.
He's got bills to pay, food to
put on the table,
As you try your best to do the
least house work you're able,
So your poor overworked mom
is picking up after you all the time,
Yet for any little thing she
asks of you, you act as though it's a crime.
So, maybe not all children are
like that,
But it is a fact,
That children do tend to give
their parents less credit than they deserve,
When they should actually hold
their parents higher than God above.
Matha, Pitha, Guru, Thevam.
if you are lucky enough to have
parents,
You should appreciate and love
them.
Things may not always be great,
But life is that which you make.
A family that pray's together
stays together,
so do things with each other,
Build those bonds, blood runs
thicker than water,
It's better to change now, than
to regret later.
So you wouldn't have to say,
"If only I had been a better
child..."
"If only we had a little more
time..."
"if only I had changed my ways..."
"If only they could be here
for just one more day..."
"If only I had told them how
much I loved them."
Life's too short for "If only..."
So make it be,
Don't wait for tomorrow,
To go up and hug your father,
Don't wait for tomorrow,
To say "I love you" to your
mother.
Don't wait for tomorrow,
to show them now much you truly
do appreciate them,
Don't wait for tomorrow, for
tomorrow may never come.
Don't procrastinate, for it may
end up being too late.
Don't ever take life for granted.
For you can't do much once they've
parted.
Do it today,
Say those things you should
say,
Parent's love to hear those
words,
And sometimes they need to hear
those words,
Need to feel the emotions,
Need to know that they are loved
by their children.
Do it for them, and for your
own sake,
Do it and see what a wonderful
difference it will make.
THE END
