NADIA'S SONG

I listen to Nadia's Song,
You know, the strings of sorrow is so strong?
I wonder if you feel it too,
I wonder if it also makes you blue..

It sometimes makes my heart ache,
It sometimes makes my heart break,
I wonder why he created that song,
I wonder what had gone so wrong..

There are those short bright happy moments in them,
Like a recollection of the past which makes you smile,
Then you realize that the present life is at hand,
And the smiles can only last a little while...

Back to the haunting melody,
Nadia's song humming inside me,
The gentle sways, the solemn notes,
What was he feeling, when this song he wrote?

Was he sad, or was he mellow?
Was he feeling, down, out and low?
Was he recalling both happy and sad memories?
Was he trying to find his peace?

I really love listening to Nadia's song,
Even if it does remind me of a world gone wrong,
I am sure that you have a different interpretation,
Well that's just because you and I do not share the same emotion.

THE LITTLE CLOWN

Everyone fancied this little clown,
She could make smiles out of deep frowns,
She would dance around and do tricks,
And make people smile for dimes and nicks,

But all who saw her just knew that face of white,
With her big red nose and huge ear to ear smile,
They would cheer as she'd do all that she might,
To stop little kids from crying and make people smile for a while.

No one saw beyond that face,
Beyond the bushy wig of green, green hair,
As she waddled about in Ronald-MacDonald-shoes without much grace.
All they saw was the wide smile on her face,
and the wides smiles she created about her.

Who would think that that smile hid such sadness,
Of a little girl who's life was such madness,
A girl who's life was so lonely,
A life filled with a sigh of "If only..."

She had no family- they had either died or left,
And her clown suit, was all which they left.
With that she made her living,
Trying to keep people smiling,
For just a dime or two, even a penny would do.
At times she was happy- to see a special baby's smile,
or when a passer-bye or two- Would say, "Thank you, dear child."

She never really did go hungry,
Ate too little to need much money,
She used it to pay her way,
for a roof over er head each day,
Loan to mer from a nice old man,
whom she vowed to pay back, whenever she can.

She wasn't one to accept donations,
she considered her clowning an honest job, for honest earns,
After all she was still young and still learning,
She wasn't going to be a clown forever, this was just her starting.

Still, her life was hard, and the old man her only friend,
The only one whom on she could depend,
the only one who saw her without the face,
The only one who thought of her as an "Angel of Grace".

He was not her father, though she loved him as such,
She doubted she could love anyone else as much,
And she would one day make him proud,
By making a good life for herself,
and not just being the clown in the crowd.

She had her hopes and she had her dreams,
And she resolved to reach them one day.
And the smile she brought to everyone else,
Would one day be a smile for herself.
